Tips for Cruising on the Disney Adventure from Singapore

If you’re sailing on the Disney Adventure out of Singapore, there are some things you’ll definitely want to know ahead of time.

This guide pulls together real passenger experiences + practical tips so you can plan smarter and avoid surprises.

First Things First: This is a “Cruise to Nowhere”

The ship does NOT stop at ports. It sails out and loops back to Singapore. Think of it more like a floating Disney resort experience than a traditional itinerary. This means you’ll want to prioritize onboard activities. Planning ahead matters even more than usual.

The DCL App Is Everything! The Disney Cruise Line Navigator app is your lifeline onboard.

Characters

Most character meet & greets are reservation-based Bookings open after muster drill.

Some characters roam, but don’t count on it. If a character is important to your kids, book it immediately. Walk-ups are VERY limited compared to other Disney cruises

Activities & Rides

Some activities require booking. BUT guests said “when we walked by, there was no queue and you could just go on.” Check BOTH the app AND in person. Don’t assume something is full just because it looks booked.

Shopping

Shops require reservations on embarkation day only. After Day 1, walk-in is available. Don’t stress if you miss Day 1 shopping reservations.

Embarkation Day

You likely cannot access your room right away, which is typical for cruises. Expect typical wait until ~1:30 p.m. You can’t drop bags in your room immediately. Pack a small day bag with swimsuits, sunscreen, anything you need for a few hours.

Pools

Main pool is small and has an open deck which is hot and sunny. There are covered pools, infinity-style pools and the concierge pool (shaded and less crowded).

Shows & Entertainment

Typically 2 showtimes (around 6:00 PM & 8:30 PM) which rotate with dining. There's are limited afternoon shows. Some happen at Imagination Garden.

Currency

Onboard charges are in USD but they accept SGD, but, exchange rate onboard is NOT great. Use USD or cards. Avoid exchanging onboard if possible!

Singapore Travel Card

You will need to complete the Singapore arrival card, and AGAIN before returning. You are technically re-entering the country after the cruise.

Disembarkation

Pack a carry-on with clothes for the last morning, toiletries, and travel documents. Put the rest of luggage outside your room at 7pm the night before, or before you go to dinner. If you want to walk off with you luggage, then do not set it out.

Morning of disembark, have a early breakfast (~7 AM). Disembark the ship by 9:00 AM.

Helpful Notes From Cruisers

  • Check-in approval can take a while, which seems to be totally normal so far.
  • Photo packages were reported around ~$200+ pre-booked
  • Marvel styling / Bibbidi Bobbidi experiences cost extra, but have good reviews.
  • Ice cream and food variety is solid (classic Disney quality)

Recap:

  • Book everything RIGHT after muster drill
  • Refresh the app constantly for openings
  • Don’t rely on walk-up character meets
  • Check activities in person - even if  it shows “sold out”
  • Shopping only needs reservations on Day 1
  • Set out luggage the night before (6–7 PM)
  • Expect early, fast disembarkation

The Disney Adventure is very different from other Disney cruises, but also similar in the important ways.  It’s less about ports and more about immersive spaces, entertainment, characters, and maximizing your time onboard!

If you plan ahead and stay flexible, you’ll have an amazing experience!
